Be sure to visit the Old Royal Naval College, rich in baroque architecture and dramatic interior. My husband and I went to see Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre it was a special occasion for my birthday, the whole evening was brilliant, and being disabled in my wheelchair, the staff couldn't have been more helpful, we would certainly go again.

For our eagerly awaited weekend we stayed in the Novotel at Greenwich which appeared initially to be a little too far out of the centre of London, but as the train station is a stone's throw from the hotel and links directly to the Jubilee line it only took about 30 minutes to get to the Apollo Victoria - visible as you emerge from Victoria station. The show was wonderful - we were all enthralled from start to finish. We booked a Saturday matinee and paid the same for the show (best seats) and hotel with breakfast as we would have paid for the show only on Saturday evening. Hotel was busy and quite corporate in feel, however, the staff could not have been nicer, they were able to advise us on the various routes into the Centre and to the O2 on Sunday morning. The breakfast was delicious, I have eaten in many hotels and none could top this one. The room was comfortable and clean and bathroom facilities very good. We were slightly disappointed with the Tutankhamen exhibition as there weren't many of the child king's personal possessions, just lots about his family and the ancient Egyptians in general. The exhibition, although atmospheric, was lacking in any significant artifacts and we came away feeling disappointed. Overall, the weekend was an amazing success, it was easy to book and all went smoothly. I would definitely book through Superbreak again. Looking forward to seeing Mamma Mia next!!

London Duck Tours run to time, and have great knowelgeable guides. It's a fantastic way to see the City, both from the road and River Thames

Train services from Derby to St Pancras and all inner London routes were excellent. Hotel at Bexleyheath very pleasant and good for all ages. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Always lots to see and do in London city. Houses of Parliament gives a great insight into history and royalty. Natural History Museum has lots for all ages, suggest you visit the basement if you have children as there's so many activities (and the toilets aren't busy!)
